A concerning incident has emerged from the Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve. The carcass of a four-month-old tiger cub was found under suspicious circumstances on Friday in the Dadra Har area under the Dhamokhar Champar Buffer Zone, triggering concern within the Forest Department.
According to initial information, a private fence is located a short distance from the spot where the cub’s body was discovered. Forest officials rushed to the site after receiving the information and have initiated an investigation.
Coincidentally, a wildlife conservation workshop was being held at Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve on the same day, attended by PCCF (Wildlife) Samita Rajoura and APCCF (Wildlife) L. Krishnamurthy, along with several senior forest officials.
The exact cause of the cub’s death has not yet been determined. The Forest Department has taken the carcass into custody and begun the required legal and scientific procedures. The actual cause of death will be known only after the post-mortem examination and the investigation report are completed.
